History

Kellock Lodge was built on land donated to the Anglican Diocese of Wangaratta, and built with funds raised from the Shire, community through public donations, and from the proceeds of the Alexandra Opportunity Shop.  We have also been supported by Commonwealth Goverment Grants in 1983, 1990, 1995 and 2008.

Kellock Lodge was originally constructed and completed as a 29 bed, low care residence for the aged in 1984.

In 1990, plans were prepared to extend the home by ten beds. Stage one incorporated a lounge and two rooms and was completed in 1992; stage two provided an additional eight beds and was completed in 1996.

Construction was completed on the Joy and Lloyd Gould Wing in November 2008.  This wing incorporated a new lounge, two sitting rooms, bathroom, carer's station/office and 16 new residents rooms to replace old rooms which were converted into offices, board room, library, day respite, diversional therapy room, kitchenette and small dining room.

In December 2009, Kellock Lodge Alexandra Inc. was pleased to finalise the construction of seven Independant Living Units on the corner of Shamrock and William Streets.
